  1.                             SOFTWARE LICENSE

  3.  FontShow is not and has never been public domain software, nor is it
  4.  free software.
  5.  
  6.  Non-licensed users are granted a limited license to use FontShow on a
  7.  30-day trial basis for the purpose of determining whether FontShow is
  8.  suitable for their needs. The use of FontShow, except for the initial
  9.  30-day trial, requires registration. The use of unlicensed copies of
  10.  FontShow, outside of the initial 30-day trial, by any person, business,
  11.  corporation, government agency or any other entity is strictly prohibited.
  12.  
  13.  A single user license permits a user to use FontShow only on a single
  14.  computer.  Licensed users may use the program on different computers,
  15.  but may not use the program on more than one computer at the same time.
  16.  
  17.  No one may modify or patch the FontShow executable files in any way,
  18.  including but not limited to decompiling, disassembling, or otherwise
  19.  reverse engineering the program.
  20.  
  21.  A limited license is granted to copy and distribute FontShow only for
  22.  the trial use of others, subject to the above  limitations, and also
  23.  the following:

  25.   1)    FontShow must be copied in unmodified form, complete with the
  26.         file containing this license information.
  27.  
  28.   2)    The full machine-readable FontShow documentation must be included
  29.         with each copy.
  30.  
  31.   3)    FontShow may not be distributed in conjunction with any other
  32.         product without a specific license to do so from Harvey J. Kaye.
  33.  
  34.   4)    No fee, charge, or other compensation may be requested or accepted,
  35.         except as authorized below:
  36.  
  37.         A) Operators of electronic bulletin board systems (sysops) may make
  38.            FontShow available for downloading only as long as the above
  39.            conditions are met.  An overall or time-dependent charge for the
  40.            use of the bulletin board system is permitted as long as there is
  41.            not a specific charge for the download of FontShow.
  42.  
  43.         B) Vendors of user-supported or shareware software approved by the ASP
  44.            may distribute FontShow, subject to the above conditions, without
  45.            specific permission.  Non-approved vendors may distribute FontShow
  46.            only after obtaining written permission from Harvey J. Kaye. Such
  47.            permission is usually granted.  Please write for details (enclose
  48.            your catalog).  Vendors may charge a disk duplication and handling
  49.            fee, which, when pro-rated to the FontShow product, may not exceed
  50.            eight dollars.

  52.         C) Non-profit user groups may distribute copies of the FontShow
  53.            diskette to their members, subject to the above conditions,
  54.            without specific permission.  Non-profit groups may collect
  55.            a disk duplication fee (not to exceed five dollars).

  60.                     L I M I T E D     W A R R A N T Y

  62. Harvey J. Kaye guarantees your satisfaction with this product for a period
  63. of 90 days from the date of original purchase.  If you are unsatisfied with
  64. FontShow within that time period, you must Inform Harvey J. Kaye (address
  65. below) in writing within 7 days of the expiration of the warranty.
  66.  
  67. Harvey J. Kaye warrants that all disks (if provided) are free from defects
  68. in material and workmanship, assuming  normal use, for a period of 90 days
  69. from the date of  purchase.
  70.  
  71. Harvey J. Kaye warrants that the program will perform in substantial
  72. compliance with the documentation supplied with the software product.
  73. If a significant defect in the product is found, the Purchaser may return
  74. the product for a refund.  In no event will such a refund exceed the
  75. purchase price of the product.
  76.  
  77. EXCEPT AS PROVIDED ABOVE, Harvey J. Kaye DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EITHER
  78. EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT  LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF
  79. MERCHANTABILITY AND  FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, WITH RESPECT TO THE
  80. PRODUCT.  SHOULD THE PROGRAM PROVE DEFECTIVE, THE  PURCHASER ASSUMES THE
  81. RISK OF PAYING THE ENTIRE COST OF ALL NECESSARY SERVICING, REPAIR, OR
  82. CORRECTION AND ANY INCIDENTAL OR  CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.

  84. IN NO EVENT WILL  Harvey J. Kaye BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER
  85. (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF  BUSINESS PROFITS,
  86. BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF BUSINESS INFORMATION AND THE LIKE) ARISING
  87. OUT OF THE USE OR THE INABILITY TO USE THIS PRODUCT  EVEN IF Harvey J. Kaye
  88. HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

  90. Use of this product for any period of time constitutes your acceptance
  91. of this agreement and subjects you to its  contents.
  92.  
  93. U.S. GOVERNMENT RESTRICTED RIGHTS
  94.  
  95. Use, duplication, or disclosure by the Government is subject to restrictions
  96. as set forth in subdivision (b)(3)(ii) of  the Rights in Technical Data and
  97. Computer Software clause at 252.227-7013.
